The promotion caps a meteoric rise through the network ranks for the former Houston Texans defensive powerhouse, who first transitioned to broadcasting in 2023 on 'The NFL Today' studio crew before calling games with Ian Eagle and quickly proving himself as one of sports television's most natural, charismatic voices.

CBS Sports executives lauded Watt's exceptional game preparation, infectious passion, and ability to break down high-stakes football with sharp player insight and effortless humor. Watt is now slated to call CBS's marquee NFL Sunday matchups each week as well as Super Bowl LXII in 2028 in Atlanta.

'I am incredibly honored and grateful to represent CBS Sports and all of the fantastic people who make this network so special,' Watt said. 'I love this job and can’t wait to see you Sunday with Jim and Tracy, and for many more Sundays to come.'
